Association for Supporting Karahantepe Research
Our Mission
It is a non-profit association operating domestically and internationally, established in 2022 to support the Karahantepe excavations led by Prof. Dr. Necmi Karul.
KADD’s primary mission is to safeguard cultural heritage and support the conservation of and research on Karahantepe. Archaeology is a discipline that seeks to understand humanity in every aspect by tracing its past. Karahantepe research focuses on the Neolithic period, particularly the beginning of settled life.
Neolithic Period
The Neolithic Age represents an important stage in human history. It is a period of major transformations where a new social order was formed with the transition to settled life, the beginning of agriculture, and domestication.
Therefore, KADD attaches great importance to supporting research on the Neolithic Age. Karahantepe plays a significant role in researching and understanding this period.
KADD
KADD provides resources to support scientific studies carried out within the framework of the Karahantepe Research Project, to support site maintenance, repair, and conservation work, to support cultural heritage projects, and to meet the needs of the excavation team and project workers.
KADD also carries out activities to increase the national and international recognition of the Karahantepe Research Project, and designs and supports social responsibility projects.
Management and Supervisory Board
We are working to ensure the sustainability of scientific research, deepen our knowledge of the Neolithic Age, raise awareness about the significance of Karahantepe, and protect our cultural heritage to pass it on to future generations.
